PPR Middle East client, Oryx Racing had a rollercoaster start to its first race of the 2012 Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series at Daytona. After experiencing a number of early technical issues with its Audi R8 GRAND-AM, the team recovered strongly to finish 32nd out of 44, competing against some of the world’s top racing drivers.

The UAE-based team used the renowned 24hour race as a learning platform that will prove pivotal in helping to improve its performance over the remaining 12 races.

Team owner and racer Humaid Al Masaood and Brit driver Steven Kane have been joined by rising Emirati Star Saeed Al Muhairi for the series. After a successful participation in the 2011 American Le Mans Series, Oryx Racing’s latest adventure reinforces Humaid’s position as the leading Arabic track racer.
